While neuroimaging research has examined the neural basis of body ownership and agency in isolation, studies investigating the relationship between these two concepts during voluntary actions, when they naturally occur together, are limited. Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) was used to isolate brain activation patterns associated with the experience of body ownership and agency during the rubber hand illusion, triggered by either active or passive finger movements. We also assessed the interaction between these activations, their overlap, and their distinct anatomical locations. Although the neural representations of the two experiences diverge considerably, their conjunction involves functional neuroanatomical overlap and interactions, thereby influencing conceptual frameworks related to the sense of bodily self. Leveraging fMRI and a bodily illusion prompted by movement, we found agency to be linked to premotor and temporal cortex activity, and body ownership to be linked to activation in premotor, posterior parietal, and cerebellar regions. While the activations associated with the two sensations were largely separate, a degree of overlap existed in the premotor cortex, alongside an interaction within the somatosensory cortex. These discoveries advance our knowledge of the neural mechanisms underlying agency and body ownership during voluntary movement, implying the potential to create prosthetic limbs that feel more integrated with the user.

Our meta-analysis compared the surgical outcomes, specifically the complication rates, in patients undergoing R-NSM and C-NSM surgeries. A literature review encompassing PubMed, Scopus, and EMBASE databases up to June 2022 was conducted. In our comparative analysis of the two techniques, randomized controlled trials (RCTs), cohorts, case-control studies, and case series were included, all containing more than 50 patients. To account for variations in study methodologies, separate meta-analyses were performed. Six studies were discovered amongst the 80 publications. Between 63 and 311 mastectomies were observed, corresponding to a patient population spanning from 63 to 275 individuals. The groups were comparable in terms of tumor size and disease stage. For the removal and extraction of aniline, p-chloroaniline, and p-nitroaniline from water samples, the biocomposite was applied using an adsorption process. The parameters of time, pH, concentration, dose, and temperature were evaluated during the adsorption process, leading to optimized values for each in experimental conditions. Under room temperature conditions, maximum adsorption capacities are observed at pH 4; aniline achieves 1839 mg g-1, PCA 1713 mg g-1, and PNA 1524 mg g-1. Analysis of kinetic and isotherm models revealed that the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and the Langmuir isotherm model provided the most suitable representation of the experimental data. Thermodynamic analysis of the adsorption process indicates spontaneous exothermic behavior. The extraction study determined ethanol to be the superior eluent for extracting all three suggested analytes. Water samples spiked with aniline, PCA, and PNA exhibited maximum percent recoveries of 9882%, 9665%, and 9355%, respectively.
